Around 25,000 households in Queensland's southeast found themselves experiencing outages on the start of the week after severe thunderstorms impacted the region, generating powerful gusts reaching over 100 km/h.
Substantial Frozen Precipitation and Broad Destruction
Homeowners witnessed large ice chunks as large as 7 centimeters in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology confirmed that various areas across the state had been affected by substantial ice precipitation.
