She again required a doctor's assessment at the Ningbo Open this week, where she fell in a three-set match to local wildcard Zhu Lin in round one.

Her movement was noticeably restricted in the deciding set against Zhu owing to a lower back issue that has affected her during parts of the season.

Raducanu had three match points before losing to Jessica Pegula in round three in the Beijing tournament last month.

She was coached by Mark Petchey as coach from Miami until Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in for the US Open.

The initial agreement with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was until the end of the season but the collaboration persists, with a training session scheduled in the coming months.

The athlete revealed that her three-day trial with Roig post-Wimbledon was like a "black ops mission" as they aimed to maintain secrecy.

The player was close to defeating top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka at their first tournament together in Cincinnati in August.

Roig joined her in New York, where she reached the third round then falling to Elena Rybakina, the 2022 Wimbledon winner.
