Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Murs in Top Flight Predictions
Arsenal's ten-match winning streak came to an end by Sunderland before the global break, but can the English top division leaders recover against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.
"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still manage to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus artificial intelligence, readers and a range of guests.
In week 12, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.
The singer's latest record, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.
Football and Family Experiences
Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a successful singer and has been a featured player of multiple charity football matches down the years - but he is not planning a serious return as a footballer.
"{I actually played in a benefit match the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "My team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!
"I continue to love football, but I hurt my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.
"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."
Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.
"I won't force football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be managing their weekend soccer side," he said.
"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a while too.
"My dad did it with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I inherited it. He managed our team for several years and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Premier League Forecasts
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their offense is already stronger with Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.
I still think this game will be fairly close, though. Burnley are well organised and their only at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.
It suggests a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.
Sutton's forecast: 1-2
The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be superior. 1-3
Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have been defeated in their past two matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.
In contrast, the Hammers won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear strong again.
The Hammers' only on the road win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in August, when their boss Nuno was previously that team's coach.
So, what exactly do I predict here - will it be the Hammers continuing their streak under their manager, or Bournemouth bouncing back?
I am going to go with the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.
Sutton's forecast: 2-0
The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2
AI's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign began, but they have impressed a several observers under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three in their past four games.
My son told me to select Brentford striker Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, guess what, I ignored the advice.
Thiago will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.
They have not had much fortune on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are always strong at home. Brentford will attempt to hit them on the break but I think the home manager's team pose much more of a danger.
Sutton's forecast: 2-1
Olly's view: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it in reality turns out to be rather tight. 1-1
AI's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
This is a massive game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six matches.
Fulham have have lots of talent in their team but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.
Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.
The away side's performance in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not seen anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.
The sensible thing would be to back the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated the Blues at the close of October.
However I am not going to do that. Rather, I really need to carry on opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good results because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.
Considering the home side's home form, the only side they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Marco Silva's team will be extremely desperate for a positive result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three much-needed points.
Sutton's forecast: 1-0
Olly's prediction: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and also that the hosts are on a poor streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0
The algorithm's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
This is a hard fixture to predict. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 games in every tournament, but could they be one of the sides who profit from the {international break|
