Iran is willing to resume nuclear talks with Washington on condition that it is treated with "respect" and "respect", Tehran's top diplomat has stated.

The Iranian diplomat stated only diplomacy produced results, and disclosed new appeals had come from intermediaries to resume talks with the US government. He said Iran possessed no unreported enrichment locations, and Tehran was not yet able to permit the UN nuclear inspectorate to inspect bombed nuclear sites for safety concerns.

Navigating a Difficult Route

Araghchi is navigating a challenging path since Iran wishes not to appear to be operating from a position of vulnerability, and he emphatically stated that Iran had emerged stronger defensively and mentally from the joint assault on its atomic facilities in June.

He was talking at a strategic meeting in Tehran where he restated that Iran had "an absolute privilege to process nuclear material domestically that it will always maintain" – the key factor of the deadlock in the previous talks.

Earlier Talks Unexpectedly Terminated

The previous five rounds of negotiations between the United States and Iran were brought to an abrupt and acrimonious end on 12 June when Israel, with US support, struck Tehran's atomic facilities in a 12-day war that ended with the American leader claiming the facilities had been obliterated. Afterward, European countries employed their authority to restore UN-wide sanctions, but Iran maintains they have not had a significant effect.

Magic Solution Offered

Iran's diplomats stated they felt they had achieved a "perfect agreement" to the nuclear fuel concern in prior discussions, when it was settled an Iran-based consortium with US participation could refine atomic fuel. The two nations would have been able to declare success since local refinement would have remained and the US could be confident that Iran's nuclear programme was solely for peaceful purposes.

It had not been agreed in the discussions that Washington's technical specialists could operate inside Iran, but that was a natural consequence of the cooperative offer. Diplomats claimed three times they had reached agreement with Trump's special envoy the American negotiator only for the agreement to fall apart due to "detractors in America".

Current Position

Iranian officials said the cooperative arrangement was now off the table, but it seems highly likely the suggestion could be revived in some form if talks resume.

The US president recently claimed he had been receiving messages that Iran desired to reopen negotiations, but confidentially Tehran representatives say they are not yet getting clear proposals from Washington either straightforwardly or from significant local go-betweens, such as the Qatari government, Egypt, Oman and the Saudi kingdom. The Tehran's diplomatic corps has been charged of non-responsiveness in the wake of Washington's unmediated tactics, but Iran asserts negotiations is not part of a show.

Diplomatic Position

In his remarks to the gathering, designed to portray the US as a controlling nation that exploits the concept of international law, the foreign minister declared the 12-day war revealed the conflict could not be settled by combat operations. He said the assaults commenced with a Washington's ultimatum for an unconditional Iranian surrender and culminated with an unconditional call for a truce.

Iran is convinced the first strikes by Israel were mounted with total Washington understanding and collaboration, making trust hard to rebuild.

Diplomacy Stays the Final Solution

The foreign minister stated: "It was not Iran that had abandoned diplomacy; it was America and the European states that had repeatedly tried to dictate their demands during the discussions. Negotiations can still be viable and stays the primary answer to address conflicts, but its criteria, regulations and principles must be followed."

"Provided that they address to the nation of Iran with the language of dignity and respect, they will obtain a reply in the equivalent approach."

Recovery and Reconstruction

In what is described by Tehran representatives as the struggle of repair and recovery, Araghchi said he was confident Iran's security strengths "have significantly improved than before 13 or 14 June of this year. Every aspect of our defense have been rebuilt. We gained numerous insights from this conflict; we have discovered our internal vulnerabilities and the shortcomings of the enemy."

He continued: "We successfully passed this conflict. Our atomic expertise, which they intended to destroy, stays intact. The installations and equipment, if eliminated, will be restored; what is crucial is the will of the nation of Iran and then the unity of the country that they aimed at, but were unable to destroy. The citizens of Tehran have developed more resilient, more cohesive, and more supportive of the administration and the nation in the wake of this attack."
